Re: Is This A Rip Off, Or Is It Just Me?
I´d say no. Why? Read on...
It can be fixed ( I still hold to my saying that ANYTHING can be fixed for a price, including Neck-thrus

). But it WILL be a 3 digit sum, it WILL show up afterwards, even with a partial refinish. The resale value is damaged badly short term, in 20 years it won´t make that much difference anymore.
If you want it as a pure player´s axe, and can fix it yourself, then you may wanna grab it. For a non-luthier or someone that doesn´t want it purely as a player (read "Zerb/Jonesey-style Semi-collector" or "pro-collector"), it´s not a good deal IMO
But whatever you do, trace the S/N with Gibson first and make sure it´s a reissue, I have a nagging feeling its just a Classic, and THEN its a total ripoff
