Is this a Seymour Duncan Pickup?

I won a Squire Strat guitar off of ebay and it came with a replacement bridge pickup. I'm trying to figure out who made the pickup.

It's a humbucker in a single coil size. It measues 15.46 K ohms. 4 wires - same as Seymour Duncan color code.

The only markings on it is a sticker that says 1B. It was installed in the bridge position.

Any ideas on who made it? The seller is a pawn shop and they have no info on it.

Thanks!

Tony

Look again at the white plastic top plate of the pickup. Between the D and G polepiece screws, there is a lighter area where the pad printed logo has been cleaned off.

14.56k suggests JB Junior Bridge. (JBJR-1b)

The Lil' '59 bridge that I had had that same 1B sticker on it. At that DC resistance though, it could be a JB Jr.

Yeah seems closest to the JBJR.

Tone chart says JBJR is 16.09K. Dunno if the older models were slightly less than that or not, but pretty close. There aren't any other single sized buckers with the double rows of fillisters that falls into the 15-16K range.

Theres always some amount of variation in the windings ohm readings arent incredibly precise even room temperature can make a difference on your multi meter. Seems pretty normal

Re: Is this a Seymour Duncan Pickup?

Got an email from SD Tech support. They confirmed that it is in fact a JB Jr that is pre-2002.

Thanks all!

CASE CLOSED!

Re: Is this a Seymour Duncan Pickup?

Thanks! When I was tearing the Squier down (got a mad mad project for it) I knew this was not a run of the mill Squier pickup. They had also installed a genuine USA Fender 5 way switch. Thus the search for info.

BTW, It's my 25th Seymour Duncan pickup!
