Is it possible to connect my Mesa Single Rectifier, to a PoD, using a Cab setting on the Pod, and then record direct to my computer?

I doubt it but I would rather be able to record at home with my actual amp rather than the amp settings, but I can deal if it's not possible.

I'm pretty sure that your POD would not be able to take the line-level signal from your recto. Not to mention you'd probably blow your amp in the process. I'd say no-go amigo.

Could the addition of something like a direct box make it possible?

You can use one of those 4x12 simulating DI boxes and run from your FX send into it (remember to leave a cab attached to the Recto, or get a power attenuator for it), but they sound like ****.

The only real solution there is to this is recording the preamp signal (via fx send), and then running that through an Impulse Response of a mic'd cab. It ends up sounding only a tiny bit better than a PODxt.

I suggest tweaking the POD a ton - you can get pretty killer sounds for demos out of them.

whats wrong with just recording with the podxt live in the first place? im going to assume you want the real deal, but it sounds like it will be more trouble than its worth
