Seems high to me. I've seen their top-of-the-line model for around that price.

looks nice to me. only concern would be the lack of controls. I know I know, that's not what this amp is about. But I would like things like a "mids" pot and maybe (shudder to think) reverb

You may be happier with a Super Drive 30, although this one looks cool. I get the impression it'll be a wide open sounding clean with a raspy breakup. One thing I like about Budda is that they give you an FX loop, whereas many boutiques don't.
Try to win it, instead of BIN.

+1 -- I've met Jeff Bober once or twice, and he's a pretty cool guy. Very straightforward -- basically said he's only still keeping some hand wired amps in his line-up to appeal to the snob contingent who simply won't accept the merits of a circuit board. I'd love to have a well-made point-to-point amp, but I thought that was funny and honest, coming from him. The Super Drive 30 is an incredible amp.

Could you make up for the lack of a "mids" pot with an Eq pedal?

That amp (if working correctly) will sound fabulous. Super cool sustain and medium gain that sounds pretty gainy. That price might be OK for a 2x12, but it might be a litte high. When I was looking at a 1 X 12 it was about that price new (although I haven't seen them priced like that much since).

You get an amp like that for its signature sound. It'll always have lots of mids, if that's not what you want, get a different amp.
