Is this person confused or did they mod this?

Re: Is this person confused or did they mod this?

I know what you're saying... I thought the Highway 1's had the three saddle design. It could be a simple upgrade, but since there was no mention of it in the ad, I guess it's possible he messed up.

Either way, if that's the bridge you want... I can tell you personally that the Highway 1 Tele's are great guitars... I love the necks on them :)

and the serial number on the headstock starts with N6 thus making it from 96/97

Re: Is this person confused or did they mod this?

the bridge is an American Standard bridge, or whatever they call it now

H1's don't come with a hard shell case, either

if I had to guess, I'd say it's an American Series. An expert could probably tell you just from the serial #.

I'm always leary of ignorant sellers, though.

I thought all the Fender Highway guitars had flat, solid color satin finishes?! :blackeye:

Re: Is this person confused or did they mod this?

The case looks to be for a strat, you can see the longer horn cutouts.

Do you think he's taken the neck of a standard Tele and put in on a MIM body or done some other changes? Because it just does not look right or has he simply mis-represented the item?

Actually, my american tele from the same era came with that case too. I don't know if there is any difference in the case styles for a tele/strat, as they both fit snugly in the same space (the only difference is that the horns on a tele don't extend as far).
