Is this possible? Coil-Splitting

I have an on-on-on DPDT switch with 3 positions. I used to use it to have hum-split-parallel.
My guitar is a HSH Westone Dynasty, there's a push pull to activate the middle pickup.

Now, what I want to do with the 2 humbuckers is
Position 1 - humbucker (neck) humbucker (bridge)
Position 2 - full split (neck) humbucker (bridge)
Position 3 - partial split (neck) partial split (bridge)

I'm thinking that this might be useful to get a wider range of tones out of the neck position.

I checked the connections of the switch with a multimeter. This is how it works

I think what I wanted to do isn't possible, but I can use this switch for the following

Position 1: partial split bridge ---- partial split neck
Position 2: humbucker bridge ---- partial split neck
Position 3: humbucker bridge ---- humbucker neck

I think I'm just going to have to split the neck pickup MORE than the bridge and live with that. I previously had 2 spinasplit pots on this guitar, but I think I'm more of a switch flicker than a knob turner lmao.

It might be. Let me, (and others), chew on this a bit. By "partial" split, do you mean with a cap or resistor in series with the "split" coil?

Yes! Exactly. A resistor to ground.
So if my humbucker is 8k, and the split is 4k, partial split might be 6k, so one full coil and half of the other. It reduces hum and is a bit beefier than a full split.

By the way, Aja is a great album! Huge Steely Dan fan

Position 2: humbucker bridge ---- partial split neck
Position 3: humbucker bridge ---- humbucker neck

Numbered the terminals on the picture.

1, 2 - connect here resistors going to the ground
3 - bridge coil split wire (red+white wires in case of SD pickups).
4 - neck coil split wire
5, 6 - leave empty.

Should work unless I missed something (:

Same basic thing as htrd posted, but upside-down. To me, the full humbucker mode would be "normal", or switch handle down. You'd want to experiment with the resistor values. 1.1k, 2.2k and 6.8k seem to be common values to use. The 1st two are what PRS uses, but I've also seen the 6.8k used.
