Is this wiring idea even possible??

I own a Schecter Blackjack 006 guitar with Duncan JB/59n pups and a 5 way switch. Since the tone know doesn't really work I have been planning to get it replaced with one of the right taper value (the dealer who sold it to me said that to cut costs schecter uses the same audio taper pots for both tone and volume which is why the tone works so badly for a lot of them). Since I am doing that I thought that it would be cool to have a push-pull installed to tap the pickups. The only problem is I would like a really complicated setup: I want it tp be the same as it is now with the pot in one position and have only single coil tone modes in the other so right now it is:

Neck 59 humbucker
Neck 59 Parallel
59 and JB Humbucking
JB Parallel
and JB humbucking

I would like it to be this when i pull the switch if possible:
One 59 coil
59 parallel
one coil 59 and one coil JB
JB parallel
one coil JB

is this possible or am I just insane, I tried to work it out on paper but it got too much for my head so I gave up.

This one's pretty tricky. I'll chew on it tomorrow, but it doesn't look good. ;)

If Artie figures that out you better do it!

Re: Is this wiring idea even possible??

A good forum bro pointed out something (in a PM) that I missed the first time I read your post. Apparently, the two parallel modes are part of stock Schecter wiring. If so, it means they must be using some sort of "superswitch" of their own. I can show you how to rewire the guitar using a Stew-Mac Superswitch, and keep all those functions that you want, but I can't show you how to mod the existing switch since Schecter doesn't provide wiring diagrams on their website.

Let me know how you want to proceed, or if you have a wiring diagram, and we'll go from there. I can post my own "Superswitch" wiring diagram if you'ld like, but it isn't likely to match the Schecter wiring.

Let me know. ;)

Re: Is this wiring idea even possible??

I have contacted Diamond Series technical support and requested a wiring diagram. If I get one I will post it. Untill then it will be interesting to see the Stew Mac one if it isn't too much trouble. Thanks for your time.

This should do it. Click the pic for the full-size version. You can wire the push/pull in any of three ways to get whichever functionality you prefer. I'd probably do the first one if it was me.

Terminals of the same color are shorted together.

Re: Is this wiring idea even possible??

Well Schecter just responded to my email and guess what they sent me: A handwritten scanned wiring diagram for the C-1 classic that they said has the same wiring as mine as far as the switch goes. I can't get the forum to let me attach the images though. How do I do that.

Hit "Reply", look under "additional options" (below the space to enter your tex), and click "Manage Attachments". You'll be able to browse for the file you want. Just beware of any file size limit the forum may have.
