If you have a bright amp, it might be worth checking out an eminence C. Rex. They're pretty nice speakers and can be found used for reasonable prices.

I recently got a Hempdog Eminence
An Eminence EM12 with a hemp cone
Kinda like the EM12 just a bit darker

I purchased an EM12 and the Hempdog
New for around $150 each

Which is why I have the spare Celestian

I also have a EHX 12VR8
It is kinda British voiced as well a bit dark

EHX has an American voiced version as well
These are both under $50 new
You may want to look into those

im a fan of the crex, but its loud. i really enjoy the tone, but compared to a g12m, it is so much LOUDER. which can be good or bad. smooth, smokey tones that are balanced. great speaker in the right application

in some cases, yes. but if you are relying on cranking the amp to get overdrive, than it can be an issue. horses for courses

I love the Type-A it is voiced like the Fender speakers but have everything they are lacking, more headroom and better sensitivity.

I'm not a fan of that particular speaker for rock. It's great clean, but I don't like it with gain at all. Had one for a while works very well for Fender style cleans but is just bland under any type of gain.
I'm running an ET 65 right now in my PRS Sonsera 20 Combo. That WGS Speaker totally transformed that amp. The Stock Celestian V type was a real dog. I may swap the WGS Retro 30 in my Zinky Blue Velvet for an ET 65 at some point as really like that speaker in a combo. It started out in my Mesa F 30 combo and also worked very well in that amp.

I was going to try one of these actually, but for some savings I’m going with a Mojotone Anthem, I’ve heard good things!
