ISO help re: Fender Twin Reissue and pedals

While I have been playing a long time I am somewhat a complete newb when it comes to pedals and integration in/with amps.

I have Fender Twin reissue that has the pedal that inputs in the back that has two stomp switches for Reverb and Vibrato. I am sure to many here this falls under the "stupid question" category but heck if I have any idea.

I would like to use a tuning pedal, a chorus and an overdrive pedal (perhaps another too) but have no clue how to run it through the line to my guitar as the pedal with the Fender Twin does not have a pass through. In contrast I have a Fender Frontman that has a pedal that passes through and I am able to run the line through the other pedals to my guitar. How does one do that with the Twin?

Do I replace the Fender pedal with something that passes through but still allows me to access the reverb and such or is there a better way to set this up?

I GREATLY appreciate any guidance and suggestions.

The Fender pedal controls the reverb and trem...keep it.
A Fender Twin does not have an effects loop. Plug your guitar into the pedals
and then into the amp. It's simple!!!

The pedals between the guitar amp should be the tuner, OD, modulation, delay. The footswitch for your amp's reverb and vibrato can just be put next to the others.

I know OD's really well, and I'd suggest the Way Huge Green Rhino with your Twin. It's got low mids, sustain, and a voicing that works really good with clean Blackface amps.

Well that was simple....duh!......I don't know why I thought there needed to be one contiguous loop....thanks guys for the suggestions.

@GearJoneser and others: thanks for the suggestions as I am also trying to figure out which pedals (OD, Chorus) etc. to get. I am a rhythm guitar player and lead singer playing in about 35-40% of the songs and typically play clean with a little crunch at times but overall my playing is to add depth, balance and layers. Any pedal suggestions are appreciated and welcome.

I am looking into the MXR or TC Electronics Chorus but ALL suggestions are welcome as I have a hard time determining which are best.

How much overdrive do you require and how do you need it to react to the volume control(s) on your guitar?

Some pedals are a simple matter of distortion, yes or no? Others respond dynamically to how you adjust the guitar controls and how hard you attack the strings. e.g. Catalinbread WIIO and RAH overdrive pedals. The designers intend that the pedal be on at all times. The player regulates the overdrive saturation from the guitar and playing techniques.

As primarily a rhythm player I do not need a ton of overdrive and will use that moderately with chorus as the primary pedals. My board will have a tuner, OD, chorus and an acoustic pedal I use .......I still need to buy the OD and chorus so thats why I was also seeking suggestions..........also any other suggestions towards pedals for a rhythm player is most welcome (might ask in a separate thread)

Boss BD-2 Blues Driver is a great overdrive pedal, which do the fancy dynamic thing with your picking attack and such.
Also, the Electro-Harmonix Small Clone is the only chorus I personally will ever need. Analog chorus with just a knob for rate and a two-way switch for depth.
Check those two out.

I "think" I have narrowed my OD choices to the Way Huge Green Rhino and the Barber LTD but by tonight I may have found 3 new favorites!!....aaaargh!! so much to pick from this is maddening!!

on a twin you'd probably like bass and treble controls on your od. testdrive the digitech bad monkey. cheap and versatile!

Good advice! I am finding both the Barber LTD and Green Rhino to be a bit deeper in the mids which I think might cut into my lead guitarists sound. I do not want to compete against his sound rather augment it. Any thoughts about the Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer?or some of the Tweed or Bearfoot's (honeybee in particular)?

I use a BBE Freq Boost with my 100 wt Fender with great results. It responds well to the dynamics of your playing and touch. It's circuit is based on the Rangemaster pedal Clapton used with his Fenders. My suggestion is find out what friends are using and borrow a few pedals to see what types and brands you like. I love the BBE you could absolutely hate it, everyone one has different tastes.

I'll be cranking my blackface Pro Reverb tomorrow, and I'll try my Green Rhino, Barber LTD, T Rex Moller, and Klon Centaur. Those are my favorite OD's. I'll let you know the exact direction to go. I know how each sound, but I'll be able to hear them all in a row.

The new Xotic SL drive looks promising... and has a Super Bass / Super Lead switch for different frequency responses. I'd check that one out, too, if I were you - it's only about $130.
