Isp Decimator G string

I'm thinking about replacing my boss ns-2 with a Isp decimator
I have dirt boxes in front but the main issue is amp noise?
I'm just wondering if the Isp decimator g string is the better option over the regular decimator and if so where does the decimator g string go in the chain?

The leader of my band has the standard Decimator. It's pretty good. Better than the NS2, at least to my ears.

I have the G-String version. It's VERY good. Worth the extra money, IMO.

You can find some other cool tidbits just by searching "ISP" on the search function.

In short, if If I was using the standard G String I'd be placing it in the effects loop as the 1st thing in the loop, before time-based effects. Other people like to put them after dirt pedals but in front of the amp. What works best will depend on your rig.

The G-String's setup is a little more specific as you are using the raw guitar signal to trigger the gate and the actual noise reduction circuit can be placed at a specific point depending on what your needs are.

When I first got my ISP G-string it was to stop the noise from the pre-amp of my 6505+ as well. It was hooked up in the effects loop, and the guitar input and the overdrive pedal I use. Since then though I've had the amp modded on the red channel so I don't need to use it in the loop anymore, only in the loop of the pedal itself for my tubescreamer.

I think you should try using your amp's preamp section inside the loop of the NS2 first, something like this

Get the Decimator G String II and use it in front and in the loop. No other noise reducer even comes close.

^^ I have the the Gstring. It has an input, a loop and an output. Whatever is in its loop gets silenced when you don't play the guitar and in my experience it is best to put your dirt pedals and the amps preamp in the loop of the G String like this: Guitar > GString Guitar Input > GString Guitar Out > Dirt Pedals > Amp Input > Amp FX Send > GString Dec Input > GString Dec output > Amp FX return.

Being that said, I read the manual of the Boss NS-2 and it is meant to work the same way, it is just necessary to confirm it can handle the signal of your amp's FX loop.
