a couple of things to trade, and a couple of coupons, $40, and a 4th of July sale at GC,…

Now I just need to finish my pedal board...

Life is good!! :cool2:

Re: It was a good day at GC...

Sanding it down, getting it nice and smooth. Throwing down a few coats of sanding sealer. Letting it dry overnight. Painting. Spraying 3 coats of lacquer on it every day for 3 days. Allowing to dry for 3 days. Wet sanding. Polishing.

Sorry. I've been obsessing over refinishing my guitar.

Hows the pork loin sound? Those Way Huge pedals are preety neat. Nice pedal board you got goin.
I’m not very good at giving detailed descriptions, but I can say it sounds incredibly warm and sweet. It’s basically what it says, “Soft Clip Injection“. I haven’t been able to spend very much time with it yet, (been playing with the Muff Pi mostly) but it immediately kicked my Bad monkey off the board, and up until now I hadn’t found an OD I liked better than the BM.

I didn't even get past the sanding on mine.

Re: It was a good day at GC...

I got sucked in by the 110 dollar Swollen Pickle myself. I can't believe how great it sounds.

Well, I can...I'd heard rumors, and clips, but still...I'm in love.
My Keeley fuzzhead and big muff pi are both getting kicked to the pedalboard curb.

Well, maybe not the fuzzhead...

Re: It was a good day at GC...

I tried the swollen pickle and I liked it, but having so many tweeking options and me not really knowing how to use Fuzz very well, I decided I better keep it simpler than that. I heard many good things about this Muff Pi with the tone cut and wicker, and most of the fuzz tones I like come from muffs so I went with it. It's way cooler than the Black box russian muff. I never did really get what I wanted from that one. I'm not disappointed at all. All the Way Huge pedals were on sale. I tried the Fat Sandwich too and it just wasn't quite what I want in a distortion pedal but it was pretty nice sounding.

The GE7 for a KFK?

Really?

Huh.

Why do you say that?.. I didn't even know there was a KFK when I bought it, I just saw a 10 band MXR in the used case, and I wanted another eq to use one in my effects loop, too. I like that it has 2 outputs...

Darkside, I had heard that it could do Muff tones,.. the biggest turn off for me was it seems too high gain and I couldn't get it mellow out enough. The Big muff with the sustain turned down low is exactly what I couldn't get from the Swollen Pickle. The more I use the Muff the more I like it, it's just what I was looking for...

Oh ok ... I assumed you'd traded your GE7 for one. I didn't see the GE7 on your new board, so I figured you'd traded it.

There's really nothing you can do with the KFK (aside from the two outputs) that you can't do with a GE7. They give you more bands, but it's a bit of a joke because the bottom two bands and the top most band are out of range for ANY guitar to make sound in. Heck, most basses or kick drums won't make a noise that could be affected by that 31 Hz band, and even if they did, most speakers won't go that low anyway. The GE7's bands cover the guitar frequency range quite well.

What do you use the two outputs for?

I thought it was cool I could run 2 amps using it, but I don't need to, it sounds much better in the effects loop anyway and it's very quiet. The GE-7 is too noisy in the loop, so it's back on the board now.

That's cool. The GE-7's main fault is the noise, for sure. A few component upgrades takes care of that though. I'm glad the KFK works well in the loop.
