and the beatch is loud! OMGoodness, it's the real deal. Same kind of insane volume my bad cat trem cat had. The secret is the transformers. No two ways about it.

I'm going to have to spend the weekend tweaking somethings out a bit. A couple of minor issues to track down, but I do believe this one will be a keeper.

So, how much are you going to charge me for that Franklin 15?

This is a wild question, but - if someone gave you an amp and asked you if you could make a clone of it, with good parts etc, for a certain amount of $$ that you decided according to the parts you needed etc... Would you be able to pull it off?

Probably only if I was very interested in it personally. I'm at the point that I've got a few models that are what I like and I'm at the point where I'll like stop adding stuff for a while.

Re: It's Alive! Dierdre 30 has a voice...

I've been tweaking and caressing all night. Holy crap this amp is loud. The half power switch works as intended. In typical matchless fashion, the switchable master is damn near useless in my opinion. The amp sounds so much better with it switched out. I'm going to try an individual mini-toggle for it and try to find a better value pot for it. It's hard to find a good selection of push/pull pots.

I need to go out and get a stereo Y-adapter for the FX loops. I think I can jumper the channels that way as well. At least I'm going to try a little stereo patch cable.

As soon as the engraver gets the face and back plates done, I'll be ready to take more pics. The bigger chassis have a lot of room to work. Makes things lots neater inside.

Switched some wires around on the master vol, sounds mucho better now.

Final pic of the guts. Waiting on faceplates. Viscously loud. For home use, I'll have to go with one speaker and half power.

Thanks, it indeed smokes. I've been running the P90 Les Paul R7 through it along with the EJ strat. Time to break out the R8 tonight later.

I'll bet that Scott_F's next amp project will be a Dumble!

Great looking internals

Scott_F: Owning Edana 007 and having played Franklin 15, your amp work produce killer tones and useability.

Re: It's Alive! Dierdre 30 has a voice...and a final pic

Thanks Larry. I've been calculating costs. I don't think I can sell the Dierdre 30 for less than $1300 head and $1450 in a 1x12. This one might be too pricey for most folks. Those are the same trannies that the "sampson big boys" out in So. Cal. use. They ain't cheap.

I"m running mine with two NOS 5V4 rectifiers in it. I'll probably ship them with one 5AR4.
