It's finished...! My SG Jr "Custom" pics.

Well, my winter project is finally done. When I got this SG Jr, the body was pretty sound, all the rest was a nightmare. The person before me install an extra pup in the neck, another volume/tone control, and a 3 way switch. It had mixed matched pots, caps, knobs, and he butchered up the original pickguard. With a few phone calls to WD Products, we came up with the original pickguard style, and added the cavity hole for the neck pup, and the 3 way switch. Tearing it down to the body, I left the original finish on, has a few web cracks, but thats ok. I put on new Grover tuners, installed new pots, caps, speed knobs, pup rings, 3 way switch, screws, jack, Badass bridge, Seymour Duncan pup's, "59 in the neck, Custom-5 in the bridge. Also had the fretboard refinished and installed a brass nut. Thanks to everyone's help on this site, here is the finish product. It plays like a dream, I couldn't have done it without all your help, thanks again!

very nice. I bet it's worth way more than you paid for it now. Not that you would want to sell it or anything. At least I'd keep it.

Excellent, I had a 66 Jr and it sounded great!

Does yours have the barrel neck?

I find I'm liking SG's a lot lately...that did'nt help. Nice resto work.

Sweet job bro. You give me hope in refinishing and rewiring one of my SG's.

How do you like the toggle switch by the horn?

Re: It's finished...! My SG Jr "Custom" pics.

Really nice job on that. Makes me want an SG also!

How much did that pick guard run you if ya don't mind me askin? I'd personally like to convert on of my Jr's into a double P-90 configuration....eventhough I realize yours is a double hum now.

I love SGs but I try not to 'cuz they're so trendy...hahaha

I'll probably end up buying an Epiphone SG400 eventually, just 'cuz there's somethin about 'em that's so cool...little evil Gibsons...

The 3 way switch was already routered into the horns body when I got this guitar. I was going to move it down by the controls, but I thought leaving it up in the horn gave it a little diffrent look. It's not in my way while I'm playing, yet it's still easy to get to.
The chrome piece behind the bridge is a wammy bar mount. The 69 JR originally came with a removeable wammy bar, (which I still have). I took it off seeing I never use it much, and install a Leo Quan Badass Bridge to thread my strings through. Get alot of good sustain on this bridge, plus I can get my string alignments and harmonic's perfect, it was really worth it.
The pickguard was custom made by WD Music Products an ran me $130.00. They did an excellent job making it match the original. They also custom cut the pickup holes to the exact size for my Seymour Ducans. Didn't have to cut or screw with anything, just dropped them in and wired them up. The pickup adjustment screw holes aligned perfect.
