Re: It's Time To Thin The Herd
Far be it from lowly me to suggest anything. If you weighed your options and feel the money is better invested elsewhere than so be it. I dont understand the regret about the Falcon that made you sick though. To me, that means you should keep it. OTOH, I personally have no use for a Gretsch myself, Could have probaby had one if I so desired by now..just defiinetely not my bag at all, although its difefrent obviously as no one I ever really got into played Gretschs besides the Early Beatles.
ya know...This is kind of a messed up society in a way. Others have littel or nothing, and some people have way more than they need, but somehow get satisfaction out of knowing they own the stuff even though its locked away in closets..maybe cause its a good investement, IDK. I have a Tonka truck collection. I dont have the space to take it out or display it, have it closted and haven't seen it for years and years but I love it, couldnt ever sell it, even though its worth consdierably less than any of your guitars, maybe the feeling is similar. I hoope to display it. Try this. Wait till x-mas season, and get a bunch iof guitar stands, and take all your guitars out -ALL of them, and disoplay them in the room. Would you miss the Gretsch?
Heres an idea..maybe sell one thing, and see how you feel about it. If your okay with it after awhile, then proceed to sell the rest.
These guitars *are Art in a way. No shame in collecting Art, enjoying looking at it and stuff once in a while. I garuntee that Falcon will outperform the Dow Jones too.
Hey, one question if I may ask please..why selling the nice Terbaccy burst anyhow? Its a Paul after all.
