I've been scoring T Rex pedals.....and I scored big today!

I've always liked T Rex pedals ever since I bought a Mudhoney, and have also acquired a Moller OD, and Viper Vibe pedal. Well built, layed out nice, and sound great.

By luck, my local GC took in the latest model Replica delay, which is widely known as one of the absolute best sounding delay pedals....in the tape delay emulator category.
They got a mint one, with box, adapter, and manual, and UNDER PRICED it. YES!!!

I saw it, knew it was $400 new, and was one that would bump some of my other delays.
They took it in that day, listed it for $139, I saw it and rang it up on the spot. The only catch is the 30 day police hold. I can't pick it up for another month. But I played the heck out of it for an hour and can tell you that it's the most natural sounding tape delay emulator I've ever heard. It's beautiful sounding on everything from clean to Eric Johnson lead type tones.

Adding the Replica, Viper Vibe, and Boss Harmonist. I've discovered the Harmonist into the Strymon Lex is the perfect Hammond B3/Leslie sound. Taking off the ADA Flanger and Deja Vu. I still love the Deja Vu, but the Replica is getting it's shot at bumping it.

It started out by accident, but my pedalboard has been turning shades of copper, orange, and brown. And now, I got another brown one.

97 Sampson era Matchless Chieftain in the roadcase.

You definitely hit a home run with that one, Joe!

Re: I've been scoring T Rex pedals.....and I scored big today!

The other home runs were the Moller and Viper. The Viper is a great authentic vibe pedal.
T Rex discontinued it for some stupid reason. It was really expensive at $380, and I got mine for $96. I also got the dual mode improved version of a tubescreamer, the Moller, for $96.

There's some producer in my area who owns all the T Rex and Strymon pedals, and he's dumping it at my GC for pennies on the dollar for whatever reason. I see them and grab them. T Rex pedals are killer! I grabbed my Strymon Lex for $200, and it's in the top 3 of my favorite pedals I've ever owned.

If only you could have grabbed an El Capistan for $139, it's my favorite delay. I was just using it at band practice today and I was reminded how wonderful it really is.

Re: I've been scoring T Rex pedals.....and I scored big today!

I keep an eye out, and even tried to bribe the sales clerk into giving me the guy's name....who's dumping good pedals cheap.

I love Strymon stuff, and always hope something pops up cheap. I just about grabbed a Cmatmods Brownie, but slacked, and someone else grabbed it for less than a hundred.

And I'm not just buying because the price is right. I usually only want stuff that I can really find a good use for.
But by grabbing it cheap, I just move it along and keep trying things. Heck, I got that Klon for $240 and have used it for years. I could sell it for $1600 if I felt like it. That's another pedal in my top 3 of favorites.

Wow what a deal! We don't have many shops/ stores over here now that will take trade items so those type of bargains are few and far between. Even though I have the El Cap I was wondering about the T-Rex and the new Wampler Echo. Great score though GJ.

Re: I've been scoring T Rex pedals.....and I scored big today!

Congratulations. T-Rex is definitely a TOP pedal maker, and the Replica is one pedal that I would like to add to my board.

Re: I've been scoring T Rex pedals.....and I scored big today!

I still secretly hope you burn in hell regarding that Viper....

Re: I've been scoring T Rex pedals.....and I scored big today!

Actually owned on of these (replica) about 4 months ago, and picked it up for a song. I played it, it sounded really good, however,..... and this is my opinion only... my Strymon Brig. still sounded better for the music I play. I have yet to find a delay to beat the tones I can get out of the Brigadier. I sold the T-Rex Replica for a profit and picked up a Pickle Vibe which has blown me away in terms of its warmth. Love it. Anyway back to the T-rex... Good score. If any pedal does what you want and you get it on the cheap..........OH HECK YEA!!!!

I was debating getting that delay just a few hours ago...but couldn't bring myself to fork over that much $$$!

For $139...that's CRAZY GOOD!!!

NEW STUFF ROCKS!!! :headbang:

I pop into the GC between work and home a couple times per week just to check the used section, so I can get dibs on whatever they take in. The downside is the 30 day police hold, but the upside is that it gives me time to pay, so I can just put a deposit on it.

Another nice score was my Godin LG-90 that came stock with Duncan SP-90's.
It's a great guitar that cost me only $175. They underpriced that one too.

Man, you don't even have that Viper on your board. :angryfire

Re: I've been scoring T Rex pedals.....and I scored big today!

Just maybe the SDUGF Ultimate Axe comp needs a standalone category for pedal boards - one that can run in parallel with the others as a taster for the final of the big event.

Re: I've been scoring T Rex pedals.....and I scored big today!

I have one of the special run hand wired t-rex albertas and its a phenomenal pedal. Probably the best OD/boost on my board. I got it for a steal too way back on TGP

that is an absolute nasty steal on that delay though

I think I took that pic half a year ago. Not pictured are the Viper, Moller, Boss Harmonist, T Rex Fuel Tank, EH Holy Grail, and Jimi Hendrix chrome top wah.
