I've gone tele mad!

After recently completing my p90 thinline project, I saw a nice swamp ash Tele Custom body already finished on Warmoth. As I've been keen to try out some wide-range humbuckers I decided to get the body.

I've paired it with a nice Warmoth Maple neck, which had been attached to a MIM body (this one now gets a MIM neck to match).

Pickups are on the way.....a Nocaster custom wound bridge and a vintage spec Wide-range clone, both from The Creamery pickups. I'll also go a Callaham bridge on this guitar too.

Re: I've gone tele mad!

That's great!

It's easy to go Tele crazy. I love 'em more than any other type of guitar, and there are infinite ways to put one together relatively simply and cheaply.

Re: I've gone tele mad!

That looks really good. I bet it comes out beast. Its very easy to go tele mad. they can be very versatile guitars.

Re: I've gone tele mad!

Oh, no! You've used a four screw neck anchor plate instead of the original CBS/Fender three screw Micro Tilt system. The precious Seventies tone will be ruined!

Re: I've gone tele mad!

Yeah, I had to order the Total Vintage neck to get the 7.25" radius......pretty much none of the showcase necks have anything other than the compound radius which I can't stand.

Funk - there's tone leakage that I can feel already. I'll admit it does look a bit strange with the 4-bolt.

Re: I've gone tele mad!

Going Tele mad is really just another name for recovering your sanity. Leo knew what was best for your mental health.

That's a great looking guitar there, man. Congrats. I'd love to build a nice lefty Custom like that someday.

By the way, I'd love to hear what you think about those pickups when you get them in. I'm really GASing to put one of the 'bucker-sized Wide-Os in the neck of my Tele.

Re: I've gone tele mad!

There's a pretty nice demo of a widerange on their site too. It sounds like a meaty jangle, if thats not an impossibility.

My Tele's span the wood and pickup options available really. I just need one with a rosewood fretboard now.....but thats next year's project:bigthumb:

Re: I've gone tele mad!

There is no antidote you know?

and................you can never leave!!

Enjoy the ride, that"s a great looking tele in a not
too often seen configuration.
