I've made a decision.

Line6 amps are god's gift to Kirei, may they live forever. They're retard proof, and Kirei is a retard.

Re: I've made a decision.

I like them alot myself. I have had many good tube amps too.

Re: I've made a decision.

I feel the same way about my stupid Behringer V-Tone GMX212 combo. There's so much stuff out there, it's nice to find something that works for you. Cheers.

Re: I've made a decision.

jolly's recording rocked hard as hell with his L6 amp

seymour w duncan melted our faces thru a line 6 amp

line 6 - not just for retards any more

:D

Re: I've made a decision.

I've always said good sounds are good sounds. Has more to do with setting the buttons correctly than having the right buttons.

Re: I've made a decision.

I can agree with that, Ace. I'm just really a huge fan of being able to go, "Yeah, that riff was insane. What? Blues now? k." ~turns one knob~

That is what I am saying. :)

Yeah, that's true. I like simplicity in an amp but it needs to sound good wherever the knobs are, unless you want to be a smart*** and turn the bass all the way up and everything else down.

that's kinda like the trick i do when i turn off my Big Muff.

doesn't matter how you do it, as long as that cat gets skinned...

Re: I've made a decision.

I <3 My POD 2.0 I like it better than all the new ones. It's got more "fun" factor built in.

Re: I've made a decision.

Except Empty Pocket, you people are on crack. Theodie, they are talking about digital amps, not vibrators, chill on the excitement.

Re: I've made a decision.

Actually, the modeling in my Behringer V-Tone is analog. And this is a practice amp; I don't consider it a stand-in for my Marshall or Mesa/Boogie tube amps.

What is good is good, stop being a snob.:friday:

Re: I've made a decision.

i can see the merit in using line6 stuff, just not for actual gigging/recording. they're versatile and user friendly so yeah you can jam out with a bunch of tones wherever you want. i might get a small modeling amp or a POD so i wont have to tavel with my Kustom.

but

lets be serious. master volume: 10, pre: 5, and bask in the sexiness of a pair of 6L6 tubes.

i wonder if the Spifer Valve amps help close this gap at all, if i can get one to sound like a Bogner when the modeling isnt engaged then hell all the line6 stuff is icing on the cake. didnt someone here buy one? i'd like to know how the bogner half of the design is

Re: I've made a decision.

Last weekend I saw some friends in a blues brothers tribute show. The guitar player, who was extremely good, was rocking a Spider II 212. I was completely shocked at the sound he got out of it. I think he was running it mostly clean on some kind of fender model and driving/boosting it with a tube screamer and a dunlop wah. He sounded great. I've met him once before when I jammed with him at an open mic and he had the same exact rig. I've been meaning to get up with him some time about how he gets the tone he has.

Re: I've made a decision.

Whatever works for you (OP) is great.

Off Topic - Can anyone say "OP" without thinking of Barney Fife?
