I've made a decision.

Re: I've made a decision.

i love me some L6 toneport:)

it's the only interface i can afford but i can get good sounds out of the stock models(both amp and mic pre- settings) so who am i to complain:?:

Re: I've made a decision.

I haven't played a Line 6 since the first one came out. I swore at the time that I'd rather tuck into a bowl of someone else's vomit than use a Line 6 amp again. Have they improved ?

Re: I've made a decision.

I've been rocking a Line6 AX2 (Like the one Jolly has) for 10 years and a POD XT Live for 2 now along with my 3 Marshall heads.

It's all in how you tweak them.

I've always said that they are not an exact duplication of whatever amp they are modeling, but there are a lot of different sounds on tap to form into whatever your heart desires.

Re: I've made a decision.

... speaking of "Line6"... the other day at GC I was wanking through a Bogner Alchemist half-stack. I was surprised at the amount of usable sounds it had - 'twas best switched on 20w though ("Variac" mode?)... made it a little spongier on the attack side... achieved an articulate, Vai-ish lead tone... and with the mids cranked up a bit it got into EVH territory. I think it would be a GREAT bedroom/practice, or backstage warm-up amp... if you get one of the combos that is. Definitely recommended if you've got the $$$ to blow on a simple tube amp w/ built-in FX.
