Jack White's tone on....

The first solo from "Ball and Biscuit".
I am not sure what he is using here, but I really like the tone.
If anyone could tell me what pedals, amp(I assume the silvertone), and guitar(the airline perhaps?) he is using?

I have to admit, I'm partial to the nasty tone of Silvertones.

that's what I was weaned on :)

I love it, plus when you add a fuzz pedal in front of one of these things they get REAL raunchy. I love my twin twelve.

Re: Jack White's tone on....

the recorded version, i have heard may have a vox ac30 on it, however the live rig all things elephant eminate from is something like.... a silvertone 60 watt head with 4 power tubes a horz 6x10 heavy ass sears cab (jack gets alot of speaker distortion) and a twin reverb either reissue or when i looked at it i thought it was silverface. his pedals are something like a boss sustain/comp, NYC big muff, dijitech whammy pedal

I LOVE the tone on that song when the heavy distortion kicks in! It sounds like the amp is about to explode:-)

You can see Jack's pedal board in this screen cap

guitar -> boss tu-2 tuner -> mxr micro amp -> digitech whammy -> big muff pi -> two silvertone 1485's or two 70's fender twins

He leaves the mxr on all the time to overdrive the cleans a little.

Best faq on the White Stripes and Jack's gear I've found.
