I think you need to find a local builder who could probably put together three of those guitars for you for the price Jackson quoted you.....

That's just insane....

Re: Jackson Custom Shop

Best I've got around here is a good tech. No Luthiers. :yell: Not that I know of anyway. I may have to ask around a little more. A cheaper price means I get it faster and I don't have to sleep on the couch.:)

That price is Retail, Skare. Most Online dealers (I recommend www.eastonguitars.com or www.vwallguitars.com ) charge 35-40% off that ;)

But Nathan, you have taste, that´s for sure. I want to either play that axe or see pics within a week of it´s arrival (currently 12 months from order date, sometimes a bit faster )

Re: Jackson Custom Shop

Sounds SWEET!!!! If you have the $$$$ more power to you buddy!!!

Re: Jackson Custom Shop

Great choice of woods. Using Korina for the neck-thru eliminates the major problem with neck-thru designs, which is too much maple.

I'd personally use lower output pickups, like a JB/59, but that's just personal taste. I'm not exactly in the Jackson demographic anymore, but I would have loved a guitar like that when I was a teenager.

Re: Jackson Custom Shop

I'd leave the binding and carved top off on a Transparent Green.

Sounds utlra-me friendly, I'll pay for shipping if you let me borrow it.... ;)

Just take a little bit to get up the cash. Now I have a decision to make. Buy the Herbert and play my Les trough it until I get the Jackson, or Get the Jackson and play it through my classic 30. Either will work as I still like the Les alot. I just can't decide what to get first. If a get one the other will put off for about 1 year to 8 months to get the extra cash to splurge again.

My Les already has a 59N and I'm waiting on a double Cream Custom.

Re: Jackson Custom Shop

Wait a second- you're gonna carry around a $5000 guitar (after tax and shipping) in a El Cheep-o $69 SKB case??? The guitar you're describing is pretty standard, aside from the korina body/neck wood. For the same money, why not just buy a couple of different standard Jackson Soloist models and be happy?

My philosophy:

True happiness only comes from what you consider to be perfection. :)

Do what it takes to get what you really want. Anything else is not enough :D

(so go for the super expensive cool guitar)

Case wasn't really a concern. Was paying more attention to the guitar options.
