F. Hails Railsologist
Hi GUys, hows it going?
Im looking to replace the bridge in 2 of my jackson guitars, they are all DXMG Models.
Which bridge should be a direct replacement for this kind of bridge here that came stock in my jackson :
Thanks in advance for the info

****ing Hails! :headbang:

I've seen both OFR and Schaller FR swapped into those.

Re: Jackson DXMG bridge direct replacement ?

Edit: Never mind. I spend too much time at home blind drunk. Or drunk blind. Or just post-risperidone.

did you manage to install it with standard tuning? cause i NEVER use standard tuning. ahahah so i assume that might be a problem
!?
what about a schaller floyd rose? i preffer those instead of the OFR. PLUs its pretty easier for me to get gotoh floyd roses than any other brand.

Re: Jackson DXMG bridge direct replacement ?

Standard tuning, 9-42.
Edit: But the original trem was a JT580LP -- not the model the OP has.

I believe thats a jt580.. I have the low profile version of that trem on my guitar.. for a licensed floyd.. they are a quality unit IMO

Could of change mine to an OFR awhile back when I was modding my dinky. but IMO.. that wasnt very cost effective , so I just found a direct replacement.

Re: Jackson DXMG bridge direct replacement ?

The Takeuchi (stamped on the block) JT580s were actually good units. However, those were discontinued some years ago. The non-Takeuchi's I've had were replaced with Schallers and OFRs for a substantial increase in tone and reliability.

Re: Jackson DXMG bridge direct replacement ?

Yeah. i think so. but what about floyd roses from Gotoh? wont fit or will fit?

i recently bought a jackson DK2M snow white and i just did a neck swap with my jackson dxmg . It fitted, but im not sure if the intonation will fit. i think both have the same radius and the same scale length. but the dk2m neck feels thicker. definitely. and the dxmg rounder. i prefer the latest. But the body on the DK2M has the bridge positioned a bit more closer the end of the body, while the dxmg has it positioned a bit more closer to the neck.
thats my doubt.

i have two jackson dxmgs . one is in sao paulo, and the other one is here with me.
and i bought this dk2m the other day.
i bought also a neck off ebay and its still in usa. i managed to find a good luthier and he build a mahogany 2 piece body thats just waiting for the usa DXMG neck.
but now i changed my mind. ill put the dxmg neck thats still in usa, on my dxmg. and ill put the dk2m neck on this project mahogany body. UNless the specs wont match(radius and scale length. but i doubt ill post a thread about it tomorrow.)

Re: Jackson DXMG bridge direct replacement ?

They both should intonate just fine. I've swapped dozens of necks on dozens of Jacksons over the years, and have only found one neck that would not fit on a different body. All Japanese 24 fret Dinky models can swap necks without issues, and all Japanese 22 fret necks are interchangeable (RR3, KV3, etc).
