Jackson JS 22 vs Ibanez RG 421

Hi everyone

I'm thinking of buying a new guitar that I could take with me when I travel. I have a Fender American Deluxe Strat but I'm much to scared to take it with me on flights. I was looking at guitars in the 300 dollars price range.

The two guitars that I think would fit my needs are either a Ibanez RG421 or a Jackson JS22 (I want something with Humbuckers since I already have a Strat).

I would love to achieve kind of a Gary Moore sound (in his Still Got the Blues aera).

Which of these two would you suggest? And if I should swap the Pickups, which Pickups (max 200 bucks) would you suggest?

Thanks

The JS22 has a compound radius I think, that's enough to pick it for me; RG seems to have constant radius.

I've had a JS22 and it was such a great guitar, especially considering the price! I would throw in some seymour duncans, a JB in the bridge and a 59 in the neck, that always works well and its versatile

the RG421 is a mahogany body hardtail

I have a RG2EX1 that is similar with a basswood body
super light weight

mine sounds awesome with a JB/Jazz set

the neck on the Ibby is gonna be an adjustment from the strat
very thin with a flat strip down the back and a almost 17 in radius fretboard
very flat
super jumbo frets give it an almost scalloped feel
if you press hard the notes go sharp
if you like your strat, you'll probably wanna go with the Jackson
