no no! dont! you had info to add to a thread, and you did! thats what its all about! whether the thread is new or old...there are allways people that missed it the first time around and new and more info is allways cool!

Re: jackson kelly.....

When someone has something to add to a thread and said thread is not inflammatory in nature, Then I´m glad to see it....

It only pisses me off when people revive ****storms ;)

Re: jackson kelly.....

The USA Jacksons are top notch, however, their necks are flat and wide compared to some of the older strats and almost any gibson.

The only reason I'm not big on the USA Jackson stuff anymore is really the neck shape...other than that fantastic. Just wish they'd offer short scale length with a narrower neck:)

Re: jackson kelly.....

I had four USA Jacksons. I had a KE2, SL2H, SL1, and a KV2. They all had JBs in the bridge. Thats where my distaste for JBs came from. My favorite of the four were the SL2h and the KV2. Both my KE2 and my SL2H were transblack with flamed tops. My KV2 was Korina and my SL1 was solid black. The KE2 was comfortable to play sitting down but was hella top heavy standing up and for that I never played it and eventually sold it. The KV2 has got to be the MOST comfortable guitar I have ever played. fast neck, great action, comfortable arm positioning and totally balanced. The SL2H and SL1 both played almost identical. I have since sold all of them. If I were to ever buy another Jackson it would be a KV2, or just a KingV of any kind. The rest they can have.

Re: jackson kelly.....

So the USA Kellys are neck-heavy?? THAT SUCKS!! I love the shape but if it doesn't balance well then forget it.

Cheers,

CJ

Re: jackson kelly.....

Balance is awful. They put the strap pin right behind the neck so when you let go the body falls away from you and the neck falls to the floor.

Re: jackson kelly.....

I have Schaler Strap Locks and a wide leather Levy Strap and all it did was pull my shirt off my shoulders.

Yeah, unfortunately they are. VERY STUPID design by Jackson as far as strap button placement. The remedy is very easy, however, I would not want to pay over $1000 for a guitar only to have to drill two more holes in the nice finish.

I was able to fix the problem very easy on the import I had though....just a movement of the strap buttons fixed the nose-dive problem and also placed the picking area of the guitar where it should be....and not out to the left of your body.

Outside of that, though, they are excellent.
