Jackson SL4?

Re: Jackson SL4?

Japanese made. No neck binding. Rosewood fretboards. Just as good as USA models is you ask me.

Re: Jackson SL4?

I would agree with bones 100%. They are outstanding. I actually have the same guitar with the same finish. Mine has some custom stuff done to it though. Check it out at

It is a good price on that guitar. New the Japs go for about a $1000. It is sort of hard to find an sl-4 at a decent price. I have seen them on ebay before where the sellers are trying to get $600-700 out of it. I would jump on it if I were you!!!!!!!

Very nice axe! I wish I had the money for this right now, it looks so nice. What pups come stock in it?

Re: Jackson SL4?

The Jackson sl-4 comes stock with a TB-4 bridge and a Sh-4 neck.

Came, it´s been discontinued for a while now, but you may well find one NOS at a dealer ;)

BTW, some had JB/´59 setups as well, and I´ve heard of distortions but haven´t seen one yet.

Thanks guys! Looks like this one is gonna have to slide for now, there's other things I need to take care of first. I'm gonna be on the lookout for one in the furture, hopefully I'll find one and get to play it. BTW, just for comparison sake, how do these measure up to the DK2? Only reason I ask is because I've play some DK2's before and liked how they played, just not the pickups.

Same build quality, but neckthru with Original Duncans = slightly slower tonal response, but fatter tone because of the added low mids.

Only other difference is the neck, the DK-2 is slightly flatter, but I find the SL-profile more comfy overall, particulary for long periods. Although I define long as >3 hours, up until about 2 hours I actually prefer the Speed-necks for their playability ;)
