Jackson Soloist now made in INDIA?

Must have missed this but yesterday I was in a pawn shop in another City and picked up a nice Silver metallic Soloist with factory EMG's and saw the Made in INDIA sticker on the back of the headstock. It was a NICE guitar that I could have walked out with for around $300 in absolutely pristine shape but that made in India sticker + not being able to find that exact model ( Closest thing I saw likely had a new street value of around only $550) or any indication what market value should be for it I walked away (for now).
What's the scoop on these?

Not any more I to my knowledge. But it was made some years back. The factory that made them have their own brand of guitars. Have not personally played them but heard that that they are OK not bad. I think they used Indian red Cedar for the body. It could be teak too as that is available here in abundance. Teak is used in sitars.

It was probably an SLSMG... neck thru, binding, floyd special, EMG 81/85, yeah? They're basswood with the graphite reinforced maple necks. They sold new for something like $650.

I've got a warrior from the same series, aside from the sloppy inch thick finish it seems pretty damn solid.

No way??? Sneaky lil sh!ts... The old formula used to be words = usa, lettercodes = japan, performers w/o a 9 in the serial = korea, and letters w/2 numbers = india

They started the X series last year- it's an Indian made version of the U.S. made line, with basswood bodies and similar specs.

Kind of sounds like the one except the one I saw has Sharkfin inlays bound neck and the regular Jackson pointy 6 on a side headstock. Looked pretty much dead on a normal USA Soloist except for the FR Special and Made In India sticker. Really sharp guitar that felt, sounded, looked and played pretty doggone nice. I wonder what market value is on those?

jmh151 is right, it's X series, mine is a WRXMG, that's what threw me off. SLSMG is different, sorry for the confusion.

Looks like the X series that I pull up except 2 things. 1-it has a Floyd and 2-factory EMG's.
The color is also pretty cool in a metallic bright silver.
Pretty much dead on this one except the color and pickups>

It's been in that shop for a while and they are asking $399 for it. I know the owners well and have a bought a bunch of guns from them. I could likely walk out the door with it for $300 or so.

300 bucks is a crapload of money on used market these days... I got my real-esp-ESP for not much more than that ($420). There seems to be a magical barrier around 600 - almost no one will pay over 500-something for a used guitar nowadays. So some spectacular stuff gets tagged 550ish, and then when its sale time, get ready to change your boxers.

Even at 300, its gotta be pretty wonderful... You can get just about ANY schecter or LTD, as well as a bunch of japanese jacksons, for three hundred or less. And Japanese charvels tend to be even cheaper
