Jackson Stock Replacement

I currently purchased a Jackson JS32T, hardtail, Warrior with stock Jackson pickups. I also also have a pair of used Seymour Duncan pickups; SH-2N, TB-4. I was looking into putting in the Duncans in place of the Jackson stock. I have read that the TB-4 should be used with tremolo systems instead of hardtails because of the pole spacing. Would there be that much difference in the sound or should I just purchase a new SH-4 in place of the TB-4?

Re: Jackson Stock Replacement

It will fit and work but the pole pieces won't be aligned with the strings.

In truth I have really never really noticed a difference. I have a Duncan JB standard spaced currently in my Jackson KE2. It's sounding great.

Re: Jackson Stock Replacement

If you're not sure, measure your string spacing. Some fixed-bridge guitars should really be using Trembucker spacing.

Re: Jackson Stock Replacement

"Most" imports have wider spacing...

Hell,I think even Gibsons are slightly wider than they used to be...

Re: Jackson Stock Replacement

I think the advise is great. I will be making the change. I did measure my string spacing from both guitars and did find that there was a slight variation in the string spacing. I also measured the pole spacing in both sets of pick ups and found that the pole spacing on the Seymour Duncans in my old Jackson and the stock Jackson pick ups in my new JS32T Warrior were the same. Absolutely no variation. Thank for all of the advice.
