I just purchased a jackson SLX soloist from ebay and I would like to buy upgrades in advance so they all arrive at the same time.
first, a Floyd original with a big block
1.what size block should I get/it comes with stock?
2.would it restrict movement of the tremolo? meaning would I be able to fully dump?

second, locking tuners.
1. what size are the pegholes and would they fit schallers?(my favs)

The Big Block absolutely restricts both the dive range (hitting the back of the cavity route) and the pull up range (bottom of the block will hit the back plate). You're trading in proper functionality of the Floyd for supposedly longer sustain and fatter tone. I have several Floyd guitars and the one that has the biggest block has very small range to the point where I find the Floyd nearly useless on it. What I ended up doing was installing a Tremol-No and just permanently locking it into fixed bridge mode.

In fact, if the Floyd sustain and tone bothers you and you want a sort of fixed bridge ish tone, you're better off installing a Tremol-No or just blocking the trem instead of using a bigger block. To me the bigger block is kind of just a middle of the road solution: you still have the trem, but it doesn't move very much, you have supposedly slightly fatter tone and sustain, but not quite as much as a blocked trem.

Why would you want locking tuners and a locking nut?
32mm block and an R3 nut is what you would want.

If you use locking tuners, make sure they have enough stagger that the string is pressed against the back of the locking nut, or be pepared to add a retainer bar.

I can see it, locking tuners are super nice when you want to change strings. Super fast and easy string change is always nice, regardless of locking nut.

Also, it takes less time for the strings to settle in. I like to get them well stabilized before I tighten the lock-nut, and sometimes I just leave the locks off entirely.

Seems the string would jump a lot if you only used the locking tuners (under trem use.)
