So I Picked up this guitar on offerup a couple months ago, 800.00 It was kinda a mystery as the serial matched 2016 custom shop but not in the data base yet 2 numbers before was a Jake E Lee sig and the number after was a satin black San Dimas so looking under the hood I noticed the routing wasn't normal so cal/strat and it has a side jack vs top so it was to be a San Dimas, floyd rose "original" which they stopped marking them like that in the late 90's the other thing was the bridge pickup its a custom shop Jake E Lee about 15.8k and it sounds amazing neck is a ceramic Kent Armstrong which is equally great sounding. I've searched around about this pickup but most had double pole screws and others around 12k, as far as the mystery turns out the guy who owned it worked at the Fender custom shop for 25yrs and he died and left his collection to his son so its def a one off "custom shop" When I first plugged it in my ears thought custom custom but with more clarity and punch anyone know what it is? maybe early JB wind with a2?

know what the magnet is? you should be able to tell alnico vs ceramic by color and duncan alnicos are marked with a colored sharpe. black for a5, blue for a2. cant remember a4 or a3 off the top of my head, but im guess its not either of those anyway

I'd be curious to know this as well. You have a pretty cool instrument and pickup there!

That Jake E Lee pup is basically a JB with Alnico 2 magnet, made initially for the Blue Burst guitar. Looking at the DC it is probably tweaked a bit per Jake's preference, but Charvel specs sheet says "Customized Seymour Duncan JB with Alnico II Magnet"

Kinda what I thought looking at the K and the sound/feel of it, I compared it to another so cal I have with an RTM similar tone but more clarity.
