JamMan has faint volume

I just got a Digitech JamMan plugged it in and fooled with it for a couple of hours. At first it was good, but then the volume of the instrument input diminished. I did get to record a loop but the play back was very faint even at high volume. I recorded w/ the peak volume control maxed all the way up, which was what I needed to get the peak light to flicker. I finally unplugged the unit and recorded again, and got a loud recoded playback, but zero throughput directly from the guitar to the amp. So I couldn't play along while the loop was playing. I unplugged the JamMan again, replayed the loop and played lead through the amp ok. But I had to unplug and plug in the unit to make it work.

I tried playing several of these in the store and the same thing happened there, until I finally got one to work, so I bought it.

I thought it might be a "fade" feature that I might have accidentally activated, but don't know. But my first thought was that the unit is defective.

If anyone has one of these, maybe you can straighten me out, if I did something wrong? If the unit isn't defective, then I guess I don't understand how to use it, yet!

Re: JamMan has faint volume

This has been resolved after emailing the DigiTech technician, who said it was defective. If anyone has one of these and It does the same thing, now you know.
