Jamming some Mclaughlin/Carnatic type stuff on my AMT Stonehead's crunch channel...

Phantasmagoria

watch where you point that sabre
Back to the endless improv'd jamming lol. I've been having a tons of fun with this awesome little head..can't stop messing around with it :smokin:

Guitar: Jackson Dinky tuned to Eb standard.

Amp's speaker emulated output (light crunch/Crunch channel) into my digital handheld recorder's line input.

No effects in front or in the loop. Tiny bit of of chorus, reverb & delay from the DAW (Audacity) for a pretty sweet distorted pseudo Sitar-like tone.. :laugh2:

Nice ambience with the fx! I love that scale too.

I was right, huh. Can't stop playing it and feels so good to play.

:D

BUMP!

..for another jam I went & forgot all about...damn!

lol ..screw the pitch-sense/chops/timing etc ...'least I got variety :bigthumb:

Thanks! Yeah...lot's of drone/5th/harmony bits ..it turned out quite trippy :D

Very much a fun little amp..so versatile & easy to dial in too. If you can think of a tone it's probably in there somewhere :bigthumb:

I dig it -- very dark and eastern.

Sweet! Thanks for listening :bigthumb:

Re: Jamming some Mclaughlin/Carnatic type stuff on my AMT Stonehead's crunch channel.

Maybe it has too much juice and gain for the direction but it has a really good atmosphere. And, if atmosphere is there, who cares about gain and juice in-between, anyway?

The Stonehead sounds remarkably organic. For me that is the definite lunchbox amp. It has an edge that no other and as a SS it also doesn't suffer from the EL84-ness that keeps me away from lunchbox amps.

Re: Jamming some Mclaughlin/Carnatic type stuff on my AMT Stonehead's crunch channel.

Thanks! Yeah, I was'nt looking to duplicate the actual sound of a sitar, more like just the vibe/atmosphere. I've always had a problem with turning my gain knobs the "wrong" way lol..

Yep, I'd definitely describe the Stonehead as organic too, very responsive and touch sensitive as well ...& besides sounding so sweet, it's also a very nice 'feeling' amp..really fun to play & the versatility is through the roof. I really love it :bigthumb:
