Jamming with new pickups!

Cat In The Hatministrator
I recently swapped out the Lace Sensor pickups in my G&L Legacy for a pair of Classic Stack Plus pickups in the neck and middle, and a STK-S7 in the bridge. I fitted the Lace Sensors when I put a Fender Mid-Boost to give me a 'Clapton Strat', but have found them to be a little 'flat', especially for the lower notes.
This was the first run out of the new pickups, so I though I'd share the clips my wife took on her phone. Jamming with a couple of friends at a regular jam night. I was playing through a 'big-box' Carl Martin Plexitone, into a Boss Digital Delay (not sure which one) and then into a solid-state Fender amp.

Yeah! Excellent sounding pickups and playing. I love the Classic Stacks, too.

Re: Jamming with new pickups!

It's funny, but finally after all these years of chasing tones through different amps/guitars/pickups/pedals etc, in the last couple of months I've really got to grips with getting a better tone with whatever is available. I used to really struggle in these situations, knowing that I wasn't using my gear, to get anything decent tone-wise and that would adversely affect my playing. All of a sudden, it seems to have clicked into place! I maybe on the verge of finding what 'my' tone really is! :D

Very nice indeed! I really like how the harmonica and guitar interact on the beginning of Born To Be Wild.
