Jazz bridge?

I don't recall ever seeing anyone talk about the Jazz bridge version.
I was just curious if anyone has ever tried one, and what they thought?

It is Jolly's fav set...maybe he will chime in soon. I have always wanted to try one, but they are kinda of hard to come by used and unless I already know I wil like it I go used the first time.

Cool . . . at least that will give me a little narrower search criteria to use. Using "Jazz" gave me a zillion hits. ;)

Edit: Limiting my search criteria to posts by Jolly has given me all the Jazz bridge info I need. :laugh2:

yep...they're my favorite. The majority of the songs in my signature were recorded with them.

I think that I am the only person in the world to have bought a Jazz bridge pickup... :smack:

It was for a thick bodied Jazz box, and I was looking for the cleanest humbucker available. I first tried 59's and Alnico 2's, but they weren't clean enough. :( So I got a set of Jazz pickups and wired them up to a rotary switch so that I could select series linkages to dirty them up a bit. Funny thing is when series linkages are selected the "other" tone control works backwards... as you turn it down to 0 the tone gets brighter! (The tone control for the pickup connected to the hot signal works as expected; it is the tone control for the pickup which is wired to ground that works backwards.)

Here is a drawing that shows how the series links on that guitar work:
