Hey fellas. Judge these picks.
I got bored and I decided to record some clip comparisons of a regular Jazz III vs. my plethora of Jazz III style V-Picks.
Honestly I can't hear *that* much of a difference between the picks, but it's there. Regaurdless, I will still make this thread look epic. I'm dramatic like that.
The Competitors:
Standard Jazz III:
We all know it. We've all used it. It's become a standard in some sense for guitarists in many genres, but how will it stand up against the pricey plethora of plastic plectrums? You be the judge!
Small Pointed V-Pick:
The fatty of the group and a standard of the V-Pick line up, the Small Pointed is a common first buy for V-Pick customers. Sizing up at a deep 2.75 mm with a long beveled edge, this pick is the beast of the Jazz III style guitar picks. They say Mass = Tone, so this guy *should* have some game.
Ultra Lite V-Pick:
A bit of an oddity of the Jazz III pick family, the V-Pick Ultra Lite comes in at .80 mm, making it smaller than your standard Jazz III pick. With almost no bevel on its edges, the Ultra Lite is sharp and angry... But is its Napoleon Complex enough to give it an *edge* over its competition? (I made a pun... HA!)
Lite V-Pick:
This fella is the love child of the Small Pointed V-Pick and the Ultra Lite V-Pick. At 1.5 mm, the Lite has a large mass advantage over the Ultra and Original. Will the combination of the two other V-Picks give the Lite a hybrid super tone? ...Maybe?

Heavy Metal:
Ran Xplorer running through a Peavey Vypyr 15 watt amp on the 6505 setting. A fun little riff I made out of boredom with chugs, power chords (fancy!), tri-tones, and an unusually abrupt cut off. Woo hoo!
Overdrive Lead:
Ran Xplorer running through a Peavey Vyper 15 watt amp on the Dlx clean mode with the Tubescreamer effect on. A little bit of the lead guitar from a movie intro I made a while back with some strong hits and light hits thrown in to show the different digs of the picks. Hooray!
Clean Noodle:
Ran blah blah blah through a blah blah on the Brit clean mode. It's the chords of a finger picked riff played lazily with guitar pick because I'm too lazy to write something else. Zippity-Doo!

The picks used will show up in the following order on every track: Jazz III, Regular, Ultra Lite, Lite.
I tried to keep my playing as consistent as possible throughout, but I'm lazy and only did one take with each track. Have fun listening to my many mistakes!
