I have som questions about the Jazzmaster whammy:

1. I wonder if the above mentioned whammy is mounted on the body like a Bigsby or is it routed in the body?

2. How is the tuning?

3. Can it be mounted on any fender style instrument?

4. What is your impression of it? Love it? Hate it? Comment!

5. Worth getting instead of a Bigsby? :ban:

Re: Jazzmaster/Jaguar Tremolo arm/whammy bar questions

1. routed
2. tuning is good when it's set up right, same as anything else
3. nope
4. I love it
5. nope, it is alot more complicated to hook one of these up to a non-standard guitar than a bigsby

Re: Jazzmaster/Jaguar Tremolo arm/whammy bar questions

would highly recommend the Jag bridge to go along with it :)

You have to route but it's prettier than a bigsby (;)) and offers more range... and seems to stay in tune better than most bigsbied guitars IMO, but most bigsbies don't have a roller bridge (which they should... and would work well on a Jag trem).

A Mustang trem offers slightly more range, but won't stay in tune quite as well if you use that range... also, smaller routes.

...Also, if you use an MIJ or generic Jag trem, make sure the bar isn't too long (just cut it with a hack saw)... They can bottom out, due to the manufacturers not really... caring :smack:

+ 1 on what Dangly said. I like them better than the Bigsby trem. but you will have to route your body.
