jazzmaster pickups

i recently got a japanese reissue jazzmaster and wanted to replace the pickups. from reading the sd website i've kind of narrowed it down to the vintage jazzmasters or the hot jazzmasters. i'd like to increase the sustain and make the bridge pickup sound less "tinny".

has anyone ever used these or just know about them? would it be beneficial to have one vintage and one hot?

Hey, and welcome to the boards!

There was a post a little while ago (last week or two?) in which they discussed P-90 pickups. I recall one member saying that a Vintage neck/Custom bridge is a very popular pickup combination. I also thought I remember hearing one member say he couldnt ever recall installing a Hot P-90 into a guitar.

So in other words, I'd say give the Custom bridge/Vintage neck a shot.
