Okie, i've looked at the options on the SD site..and i'm a tad confused. It has "Jazzmaster" pickups, especially designed for just that. And Stratocaster pickups..I'm new to single-coils, by the way. Anyhow, what's the difference between the Jazzmaster pickups and the Stratocaster ones??? Cheers :-).

Re: Jazzmaster style guitar, pickup help.

Jazzmaster pickups have a wide and short bobbin, while the strats bobbin is taller and narrower. Jazzmasters are designed really to stay cleaner than strat pickups are (not that vintage wound strat pickups will overdrive much anyways), but that was the intention when Leo Fendr built the Jazzmaster. At any rate, they are different sounding beasts, I'd say take a listen to the soundclips and hear the differences between the SSL-1 and Vintage for JAzzmaster, and then again between the SSL-3 and the Hot for Jazzmaster. that should give you a good inclination as to how they sound differently.
