Re: JB/59 PRS SE Great
I can't remember how long ago, but I have had these pups in for months now, and I love them. It brings out more character and dynamics ( pinch harmonics too ) . I didn't think the originals were bad, but just wanted a little more and I got it with the Seymour Duncan pups.
Now, just to clarify, I am not using amps, I am using both a kemper and an axe fx 2 , and going into FRFR . Adam 7x to be specific.
Mostly i am playing lead tones . depending on my patch settings, obviously can change the sounds dramatically. So I assume with a normal amp, you just eq it to taste and it will be great..
Although the JB can be bright at times, it is very manageable using the volume knobs and tone knobs. But, I rarely need to do that.
The 59 in the neck does an amazing job. I am sure there are many pups that are fantastic as well, but this was my first pup swap on any guitar and I don't have plans on changing them out.
But I use this guitar as much as I use my more expensive guitars now, and some patches, I like the 245 SE better...
So those of you just on the fence to buy an SE 245 , I highly recommend it. And those who own the guitar already, the JB /59 combo
Is a winner.
I did a you tube with my iPad as the camera and internal mic, so not the best recording / mix, but it is live in the room, and if you can tolerate my repetitive licks ( I had this lead in my head, and was working it out to a few backing tracks ) and occasional bad notes
