JB and Jazz combo-question

Hi, my first post here. I just purchased both the JB for the bridge and the Jazz for the neck, for a 2005-6 Epiphone les Paul standard plus. For some reason, the neck pickup sounds very bassy and louder than the bridge pickup, all wiring has been done for normal use-R&W soldered together Green and bare to ground and the black to hot lead. I bought the jazz especially NOT to be too bassy and at least be the same output as the JB. Anyone know what I'm dealing with, maybe a quick fix??? Thanks

Re: JB and Jazz combo-question

Assuming your pots are in good order and all 500K, and that you've made no mistakes with your wiring, it sounds like the JB needs to be adjusted closer to the strings...and maybe the Jazz adjusted further from the strings.

The Jazz (and the JB) both have a fair amount of bass.

If you want less bass than an alnico 5 pickup like the Jazz has, then an alnico 2 pickup like the Pearly Gates or APH2 or Seth Lover is the answer.

Re: JB and Jazz combo-question

Sounds to me like the Jazz is too close. I have on in the neck of my Epi Std Plus and it's not too bassy. I have it sitting further away from the strings than the bridge pickup (Brobucker).
