As much as I love the JB, I don't really like ANY pickup in the bridge position for clean tones. But that's just me. Clean always sounds better from the neck, or better, middle position.
While that is true, in a live situation it can be a compromise. For example, I have to switch from a heavy bridge tone to a clean tone with chorus - so I already have to change amp channels and add chorus. To switch pickups becomes more of a hasle so I just tweak my clean channel extra bassy and warm so it works with the bridge pickup. anyone do this?

i do a few things to get cleaned up. either i roll my volume down, cut a coil from my bridge(sg), coil swap and lower a bit(epiphones) turn my distortion off, i switch to my already lowered neck pickup, or some combination thereof.
in series mode with 500k pots it isnt my favorite clean tone, parallel or split is much better
