there are a lot of folks using the jb with a2 and/or 250k pots with good results

Where does the 250K go? The volume? Tone, or both?

Where does the 250K go? The volume? Tone, or both?

If not replacing both tone and volume, start with replacing the volume first - it has more impact than the tone control.
