JB in Wolfgang

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone sucessfully installed a JB pup in their Wolfgang? I am considering this but not sure if it will fit?

You will have to file down the pickup legs in order to fit, unless you want to route the body cavity itself.

I've done it and wasn't impressed. Maybe if you switched to 250 pots, it'd warm it up a bit. The jb alone was a touch to bright or "peaky." I liked the custom 5 (espcially the lows...tight and ballsy) and the custom (less balls but more mids) in mine...but since I made the jb/custom hybrid...I've been in tone heaven. Hybrids rule. I'm dying to try a 59/custom 5 hybrid.

It is because the the routing is very close to the bridge.
It needs something bassy and muddy and untight...hehehe

I had a jb in my wolfie and it was too bright for me (sort of like an ice pick in the forehead....fz). I tried a VHot Paf, AirZone, and ToneZone in mind (tonezone is in it now) and have found the tone more bearable leaning towards the AirZone as my fav.

:6: I have DMZ's....while they certanly are good, they are never going to replace my Duncans, I have a Wolfgang, the bridge routing is very close to the floyd, that is why this baby is very "bright" as you darkness and tight infested people calls it
Someone suggested a TZ, that would work, or a SD as I have in mine right now.

Just curious, what were your thoughts on the VHot PAF in the Wolf?

I liked it alot. It has this 3d sound that is hard to discribe. I removed it as I was looking at the Axis pickup config which is the Air Norton/tonezone according to Dimarzio, which is what I have in it now. The VPaf and VHPaf will probably go back in it in the near future.
