JB Jr being used on my bands demo.

My Hard-Rock covers band recorded a rough demo recently, the tracks from which are here:

Thought I'd share this with you guys as I'm interested in whether or not you think the overly mid-rangy sound of my JB JR is usual? I don't really like it at all. It makes the guitar sound 'distant' compared to the Les Paul Studio that the lead guitarist is using.

Panned mostly left - Lead Guitar DSL50 + Les Paul

Panned mostly right - Rhythm Guitar (me) Marshall Jubilee + Homebrew Ash Strat with JB Jr. Jube is on the Lead channel all the time.

I think, especially on the Seeker, you can really hear the 'mid-range' character of the Jube. The pickup is also a big contributing factor so I will changing that to see if it is the amp or pickup that is mostly responsible..

I edited your post, as I couldn't get the link to work. I changed it to be the same as the link you posted in The Pickup Lounge and it seems OK now.

Your singer sounds a lot like Roger Daltrey! :)

If thats you with the opening rythm on the seeker thats sound plenty fat to me. I think it sounds great.
The guitar in my left sounds more middy and thinner than the one to the right, but thats just me.

You guys nailed this tune, and I agree with Simon that your singer sounds a whole lot like Daltrey. The rhythm guitar does seem a little mid-rangey. Perhaps you could bump up the upper mids a bit. The song still totally rocks, bro.

Thanks Simon for sorting that link! And thanks guys for the comments.

Yeah, we struck gold with the singer, for the Who numbers especially. Going to put Baba O Reilly (Pearl Jam stylie) in the set too. We already do Won't get Fooled Again, so thats prob enough Who numbers!

Changing the JB for a SD '59 shortly, Looking forward to seeing what the tonal change is like.
