How would a JB Jr. bridge sound on the neck position in an Am. Std. Strat?

or

A CoolRails bridge sound on the neck position?

Thanks for the replies!

Re: JB Jr. bridge for the neck position?

I think it'd sound a little dark. But I do like a JB JR neck model used as a bridge pickup...it's brighter and, IMO, blends better with stock neck and middle single coils. When I used a pair of SSL-1's and JB JR I used a neck model JB JR. as the bridge pickup. Lew

I would guess the CR bridge on the neck would even be darker?

Well "guess" is the right word cuz I've never tried either as a neck pickup! I would never have though anyone would use a full size Duncan Custom or JB as a neck pickup but some players do...and like them! Lew

Re: JB Jr. bridge for the neck position?

I tried a Cool Rails bridge in the neck of my Patriot, back when I was trying to make a "poor-mans" Cyclone. As much as I love the Cool Rails, (see sig), it lacked something. It only lasted a day or so.

I still have a CR bridge in the middle of my Strat, but it's wired in parallel. That seems to work out great. Its like a slightly hotter Vintage Rails in tone. Matches up great with the CR's in the neck and bridge.
