JB Junior in a tele ... Yay or Nay?

Re: JB Junior in a tele ... Yay or Nay?

JB Junior in a telecaster ... good idea?

Good Lord.... No..... But you never know :) The JBJr works really well in one of my Strats but sounded like garbage in another so it can be picky.

I just ordered an Area vintage voice bridge pup to replace a Dimarzio Air Norton T... If you are interested in the trying the Air Norton, PM me... I will be putting it up on Ebay soon but will let it go here for a nice $$.

Re: JB Junior in a tele ... Yay or Nay?

Can you elaborate the question please?

Are you planing to put one in your tele?
Are you planing to get a custom one made?
Are you asking if SD should start producing them, since they don't have it yet?
Are you planing to place the strat model in tele?
Good idea for?

Re: JB Junior in a tele ... Yay or Nay?

I would say no. I haven't liked the JB in any fender I've tried. I know some people rave about them in strats, but the high mid spike mixed with the brightness of the guitar to begin with is a deal breaker for me. I have had good results with them in SG's and les pauls though

If you are trying to make your Tele Hard Rock friendly with the JB, check out the Air Norton as I said earlier. It balanced out my Ash body Tele and made it metal capable.... I am returning the guitar to vintage sound now because as good as the Air Norton does the dirt rock sound, the cleans are not very good... Kinda sterile and lifeless, but as I also stated as soon as the Area bridge pup arrives and is installed I will be selling the Air Norton so feel free to contact me if you check out the specs and reviews for it and want to give it a shot.
