Re: JB muddy?

I think it's articulate, but not as articulate as the Full Shred. It's more forgiving, and the top end is slightly "cloudy" due to lots of high mids and not a lot of pure treble. It's not as warm as the Breed bridge, which can get muddy/"throbby" in a lower mid sort of way.

Re: JB muddy?

Has anyone ever wired the JB in paralell and put it in the neck ?

Not in the neck, but the JB in parallel is awesome - more like a paf strength pickup in an sg. The neck would be a good position for that effect too I'm sure.

Re: JB muddy?

I think it does depends on the guitar/amp combination, so I would say that is average. Andy Timmons used all the way up until 2009 and I think his sound is pretty articulated... but in other applications I've heard it could also get muddy. I think mine is pretty articulated in my Kramer...

Re: JB muddy?

I have an alder body superstrat with a jb and an alder body star with a custom...
The differencies are big...
Custom is far better...
Bigger,more articulate...
I kinda like it's lead tone more...It's not as forgiving as JB but it's cleaner..
