Jb or Custom5???HELP

I know this might have been over done but here it is again.
i am making a all Mahogany body and maple neck and want to get a Schenker type tone. also i really like the Van Halen tone as well.
i know that Duncan makes the EVH pickup now but i know that Wayne Charvel makes almost ALL his guitars with the JB. i already have a Jb in older ( 86') ibanez of mine and i like the way it sounds.
i was just wondering if the Custom 5 would get me more of the sound that i am looking for.

actually i already looked at that thread and it was kinda helpful. i guess the only way to know is to try the darn thing. but we always like to discuss stuff we enjoy!
i guess that i really like the JB but would like it to be maybe sweeter. i guess that putting it into a sweeter guitar will give me the tone i want. i which case i will put it into a new all Mahogany body maple neck.

Then again i already have a JB so maybe if i get the custom 5 and dont like it too much then i can always swap it. the only problem is that it is not trembucker spaced ( and i have a strat trem) , but i dont know how much that will effect the sound. hmmmmm.............there's an argument!

A JB has a more soft and compressed feel, while the C-5 has a tighter bottom end, and more open sounding mids and highs. Think of the JB as Lynch/Vivian Campbell
and the C-5 as Van Halen/Schenker

ok, but i thought that Van Halen uses quite a bit of Mids. as i see from other posts the C5 doesnt have that many, is this true?
that is about the only thing worrying me is that the C5 will be scooped and i dont want that.
Does Warren di Martini use the Jb as well?

Didn't Van Halen used a gibson PAF in his strpped Kramer? I don't know if he is ussing now the JB as a part of his everyday gear but for sure he was ussing a PAF in his early records. So if you want to emulate his first recordings then i think a PAF type of pickup will be the best. After all a EVH it is a PAF type of pickup and so is the C5.

So i think you should go for the C5.
