So my 1997 PRS CE24 is off at my local guitar shop for some fret work and pickup replacement/wiring. I bought the guitar 5 years ago from Reverb, it came with the Pearly Gates set from the prior owner, but I was never really sure what was going on with the wiring on the rotary switch, as the neck pickup sounded brighter and maybe a little out of phase in a couple positions. I have a JB to replace the bridge PG. My tech just called me with the JB now wired up fine, but it turns out one of the PG neck coils is not working, so I'm having him order me a new PG for the neck directly from Duncan.
Question about the wiring:
I want full standard series bridge humbucker in first rotary position all the way clockwise. The second position I'm not sure if I want coil split or just parallel. Third position I want just the standard two humbuckers in series. Fourth position either coil split or maybe parallel. Fifth position as full neck humbucker.
Would parallel wiring be better for the two and four positions or should I go inner or outer coils on them? Any advice would be appreciated.
