JB split

I've just liked to play the JB split, so i disconnected mid single coil (which i never use) and i can now use the studcoil alone.

Wow sounds great - a bit lighter distortion sound.
Much warmer than i thought!

I'm not sure about the cleans, the humbucking seems to be more "complex" then split to me in the moment.

Hope i have some time tomorrow at reh. to check it out at louder volume.

And i can hear my 19" over the speakers :laugh2:

Re: JB split

Why not just add a push/pull pot so you can switch the middle in and out. ;)

Re: JB split

What is a computer monitor or a TV Alex. What do I win?

Re: JB split

btw. the mid position (before: mid single) is no the super-buzz-but-still-clean-on-high-gain position ;).
Is it normal that when nothing is connected that there still pass some sound (i think the switch is working as a capicetor (sp?) ) or is this just with cheap switches?
i'm gonna wire it different to fix this these days....

computer monitor is right. But nothinbg to win just one more post on your "Konto".

Re: JB split

I didn't know the computer monitor could cause noise. I thought the computer itself was more important. If you just think about the procesor and the CD motor, this thing create very important oscilating magnetic fields...

Re: JB split

Yeah, monitors and certain printers cause a lot of noise. Its hard to listen to AM radio in the vicinity of a computer for that reason.
