JB vs Custom Custom to pair with DiMarzio Cruisers for Music Man Silhouette Special

I've just purchase a Music Man Silhouette Special, and I'm looking for a bridge pickup to pair to pair with 2 Dimarzio Cruiser neck pickups. I'm going to be mainly playing Instrumental Rock on this guitar. Although I may still use it to play other rock styles. But mainly I want an great lead tone, with exquisite vocal delivery.

What do people think?

On my Silo Special, I love the Custom Custom. I think the output of the JB would overpower the singles.

Well I know Andy Timmons used the JB with the cruises. How about the Custom 5?

The Custom 5 is a lot brighter, with less mids. I like the mids. I use the Custom 5 in a SUB1 poplar bodied Music Man, but that guitar is all mids.

Definitely JB. If you want singing lead tones, it's hard to beat the JB.

It's just a hard choice between the JB and CC. Does the JB really have a better singing voice than the CC? I have a few JB loaded guitars, so would be nice to try something new. I am totally tonal happy with the JB, though. I just thought to maybe try something new and you never know. This will be mainly a lead pickup though. So not a lot of heavy rhythms. It just needs to be thick, but with enough presence to cut through. But also dynamic enough to respond to pick attack. Think Neal Schon

Both are great lead tone pickups. I do believe that Duncan offers an exchange policy as well. If you're curious about the CC, by all means check one out. Next to the JB, it's one of my favorite humbuckers for a strat style guitar.

Is it also worth getting Juarez to wind it in the Custom shop?
