can someone compare/contrast a dimebucker from a JB, tone wise (or whatever wise). i already have a JB and LOVE IT! but in light of the tragic recent events, i have thought about droppin a dimebucker in one of my other guitars. can someone help me?

Re: JB vs. Dimebucker

never played a JB before but...

Dimebucker- probably not as hot as the JB, interestingly enough, great palm mute chunk, good amount of high end (too much in some axes), very smooth, grinding type distortion (not really as crunchy like a DD or probably JB), listen to Pantera and that's basically it... rather, one of many sounds it can make.

Twangy Cleans, not bad at all. I'd recommend it, but then again i haven't played a jb for more than a couple minutes.

Re: JB vs. Dimebucker

Dime is notably hotter than the JB to my ears, more defined in the bass and less nasal in the upper mids. The highs are sharper, and the overall tone is generally more "modern" and aggressive.

The JB is more versatile, and pulls off harmonics a bit better. But being more of a Custom (SH-5) user I personally tend more to the Dime.

Oh, and the JB´s cleans are better, especially when split ;)
